The problem

Finance apps want your data. This one doesn't.

Most personal finance apps ask you to link bank accounts, upload your data to their servers, and accept ad or analytics tracking. People who just want an accurate, private record of their money have few good options.

The build

A real ledger, kept on your device

Built a Flutter app with Clean Architecture and Riverpod, backed by Drift (SQLite) on the device. A core financial engine guards ledger integrity, so balances can't drift from the transactions behind them. Firebase Auth and Firestore power opt-in backup and cross-device sync, and in-app purchases unlock the premium tier. The website is a React 19 + Vite + Tailwind CSS v4 site.

Balances are never typed in. They are always worked out from the transaction history. Money is stored as whole cents, so rounding errors cannot happen. Cloud sync is optional and off by default.

Double-Entry Engine

Balances are derived from transactions, never typed in, so the ledger always adds up.

Private by Default

Offline-first storage with no ads or tracking; cloud sync is opt-in.

Analytics & Loans

Net worth, monthly cash-flow charts, and loan repayment tracking against principal.

Results

What shipped

  • Published on the Microsoft Store, with Android and Linux builds from the same codebase.
  • No ads, no analytics SDKs, no bank linking. Data stays on the device unless the user turns on sync.
  • Integer-cent storage makes floating-point rounding errors structurally impossible.

Open to sysadmin & cloud infra roles

Got a messy network? I like those.
